Abraham Lincoln was America's 16th President. He is regarded at one of our finest Presidents. He helped unite a country after the disastrous presidency of James Buchanan. Lincoln helped introduce the Emancipation Proclamation which helped free the slaves. The Union was successful under the leadership of Lincoln in defeating the Confederate states. Lincoln was assassinated in 1865.
